SMIDGENS LASER CUTS DISPLAYS FOR BULLET JEWLERY AND BOTTLE OPENERS
By: Rita Villa
Here at Smidgens we laser cut thousands of displays. Laser cutting lends itself well to making parts that fit together perfectly to form stands or cut holes for hooks or other items to fit in. One of the most interesting displays we’ve been doing has been for the extremely popular bullet jewelry designed and created by Doug and Lynne Ingalls of 2 Monkey in Orlando, Florida.
Smidgens has been doing work for Doug and Lynne for many years, but their latest creations are some of the most interesting stuff we’ve seen. They are literally taking used bullets and shell casings and recycling them into necklaces & bottle openers. Some of the jewelry is great for men or women, 22 caliber bullets hanging from ball chain…can’t get much cooler than that. On small shell casings they’ve added beads and crystals, creating a lady like necklace even my 73 year old mother gets tons of compliments on. For you tough guys (and ladies) they’ve created this giant bottle opener made from a 50 caliber bullet. Show up at any party with that and you’ll be the one in charge of the beer cooler all night.
2 Monkey came to Smidgens looking for a way for store owners to display these cool new products. It had to be interesting, convenient, and reasonably priced. Doug and one of our designers, Katie, worked together to create point of purchase counter displays. We cut masonite & mdf into many different designs that fit together and form places to hang necklaces, key chains and hold bullet bottle openers. After the parts are cut, we send them down to Florida where they are assembled and finished. Once that’s done, they’re ready to be filled with 2 Monkeys amazing products and shipped to retail outlets around the world.
Here at Smidgens we’re always proud to be a part of the success of an American company. The great people at 2 Monkey are the true essence of what it means to be entrepreneurs; create great products, provide jobs, and keep the economy of this wonderful country alive.
