Here at Smidgens, we’ve always considered our impact on the environment. You can feel good knowing scrap material will be recycled in one of the following ways:
1) Wood is ground up for garden mulch or pellets for wood stoves.
2) Acrylic is melted and made into new sheets.
3) Metal scraps are recycled into new hot rolled steel, possibly for your new refrigerator or the car you are driving.
4) Bits and pieces of wood and acrylic are donated to schools, senior centers and summer camps to help inspire the next generation of artists.
5) A creative person grabs something from our scrap pile, has a vision, and turns a piece of junk into something useful.
